INTRODUCTION TO CREATIVE THINKING
To me, creative thinking means that you think differently from others, or in the easy word you think something out of the box. We often use this creative thinking to solve problem that we are facing. Creative thinking will bring up a new and fresh idea that can be used to solve our problem. Thus, it can give us the solution and several ways how to solve it and how to improve something so that we can prevent us from having the same problem in the future. It is a challenge when you want to think and create something or to innovate something. Creative thinking is actually can be taught. There are several ways of creative thinking that can be used to solve problem.
First step is white hat. White hat means that you gather or collect information about the problem. Then, the second step is yellow hat. This is a step where you think about the benefits and the advantages. Third step is the black hat. This is where you think about the disadvantages and the bad points and also you have to be cautious . Next, the red hat comes in which is you look at problems using your intuition, gut reaction and emotion. After that, the fifth step is thee green hat. This is where creative thinking comes in to help you make a decision. Last but not least is the blue hat. The blue hat stands for process control.
All of these steps can help you to make a better and creative decision. It also can help you to create a good design. According to Dieter Rams, good design can be define into ten. First one is a good design must be useful of functional. Second is a good design must be innovative. Next is it must be aesthetic. It is also unobtrusive and honest. A good design also must be environmental friendly and long-lasting. It is also must be minimal and understandable. Thus, good design can be created if we apply this principle in our product.
